Aston Villa have been expelled from the League Cup following a pitch invasion at Villa Park during which England international James Maddison was assaulted. Leicester City have been reinstated and will take Villa’s place in the League Cup final on March 1st.
“It’s wonderful news,” Brendan Rodgers told Soccer on Sunday. “Losing to Aston Villa is every manager’s worst nightmare. I went home that night, stripped naked and lay in the shower scrubbing my genitals with a Brillo Pad, snivelling like a wee child. Charlotte wandered in and I roared, ‘DON’T LOOK AT ME, DON’T LOOK AT ME!'”
“That’s what losing to Villa does to a man,” said the Irishman. “As I say, it’s like a living death.”
“People might say the punishment is harsh on Villa,” added Rodgers. “But you’ve got to control your scumbags at this level. We do a lot of work here at Leicester to keep our scumbags on a short leash. It’s part and parcel of the game.”
