West Ham UTD have confirmed that the London Stadium’s ‘Bobby Moore Stand’ will be permanently renamed ‘The Knollsy Stand’. Chris Knoll has been branded a hero for fighting off AZ Alkmaar ultras after Thursday’s Europa Conference League semi-final.
“It’s no more than I deserve,” Knollsy told Soccer on Sunday. “I asked if the whole stadium could be renamed The Knolosseum, but the suit and tie wearing slags upstairs would only give me one poxy stand. There’s your modern gratitude. Maybe it’s them I should have smashed the fuck out of instead of that windy little Dutch lot.”
“Yes, I was introduced to Moyesy,” said the 58 year-old. “I asked if I could play in goal against Leicester. He said no, I followed him into the toilet, he had a bit of a fall, and now I’m starting on Sunday. All very straightforward.”
“Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to pick the team for the final,” he added. “David’s decided to step back for a bit.”
