Jamie Carragher has apologised to the 14 year-old girl that he spat upon during an incident of road rage in Manchester. The Sky Sports pundit was filmed being goaded about Liverpool’s defeat to bitter rivals UTD by the girl’s father, before overreacting in a manner that could cost him his job.
“I can only apologise,” Carragher told Soccer on Sunday. “You can’t see it on the video, but the girl’s giving me the wanker sign with both hands and mouthing the word ‘knobhead’. And with the swastika tattoo on her forehead, I’ve just lost it. Listen, nobody likes a Nazi girl mugging you off on camera, but that’s no excuse.”
“I’ve let myself down,” added the Liverpool legend. “If I’m going to spit, I need to be sure to get the distance over the Nazi girl and into the father’s face. I’ve got my angles all wrong on the day. The Nazi girl’s drenched, and the dad’s gone home bone dry. It’s a shocker, to be fair.”
