Antonio Conte has apologised following his unprecedented rant in the aftermath of Saturday’s 3 – 3 draw with Southampton. The Italian furiously criticised his players in the post-match press conference.
Spursy
“I am sorry,” he told Soccer on Sunday. “To call players ‘Spursy’ is degrading — even if they play for Spurs. I also apologise for calling them shite. My emotions overwhelmed me when I saw the team being all Spursy and shite. But this is no excuse for accurately describing them as shite.”
“And also Spursy,” he added.
Shite
“It is important that the players understand they are shite,” said the 53 year-old. “And Spursy. But in private, no? I will visit each player in their home this evening and inform them that they are Spursy.”
“And also shite,” he added.
Levy
“Ball’s in your court now Levy, you baldy cunt,” he muttered, standing to leave.
It is unclear if Mr Conte realised his microphone was still on.
