Philippe Coutinho has made it clear that he will not sign for Manchester UTD out of respect for former club Liverpool and because they’re shite. The Brazilian has underperformed since joining Barcelona 18 months ago, and is widely tipped to leave this summer.
“Never,” said Coutinho, when asked if he might consider a move to Old Trafford. “I spent five wonderful years with Liverpool and would never disrespect the fans. Plus, UTD are shite. Like really, really shite.”
“If UTD weren’t shite?” added the Brazilian playmaker. “The question doesn’t make sense, because they are shite. What if we had flying cars, what if Bobby’s teeth were even whiter, what if UTD weren’t shite — I prefer to live in the real world, and in the real world UTD are shite.”
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists that the door is not closed on a possible bid for Coutinho.
“There’s always hope,” the Norwegian told Soccer on Sunday. “It’s well documented that we’re shite, so it’s my job to convince players like Phil that we’re not.”
“Even though we are,” added Solskjaer. “We’re shite.”
