Dejan Lovren has insisted that he enjoyed Liverpool’s shock 3 – 0 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road this evening. The loss ends a record-equalling sequence of victories and could kindle nerves among fans desperate to end the club’s 30 year wait for a league title.
“I enjoyed it,” Lovren told Soccer on Sunday. “That’s the main thing. I don’t play football to win titles or any of that nonsense. I play because it’s fun and a good form of cardiovascular exercise. It’s also an excellent way to lose weight. Today’s 90 minutes will have put inroads into my Christmas paunch.”
“Not to worry,” said the Croatian defender. “I’m sure we’ll lose many more games before the end of the season. The trick is to not take it too seriously. The gaffer was freaking out in the dressing room so I said, ‘Chillax, you crazy German bastard.'”
“That only seemed to make him angrier, for some reason,” added Lovren.
