Mauricio Pochettino has likened himself to under-pressure UTD boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following Spurs’ Champions League collapse on Tuesday. Bayern Munich put seven goals past Hugo Lloris to inflict a record European defeat upon the London club.
“I’m just a fat Solskjaer, no?” said Pochettino on Tuesday night. “People say Ole is a clown and a creep and this and that, but other than being fatter, how am I different? Why not curl my hair, dye it grey and call me Ole? If he’s a clown — which he obviously is — then I’m the same.”
“Except fatter,” added the former Southampton boss.
Solskajer admits that he is flattered by the comparison.
“It’s humbling,” the former striker told Soccer on Sunday. “If someone calls me a skinny Pochettino, I’ll take that all day long. Especially if it’s Fat Me saying it. That’s straight from the pudgy horse’s mouth.”
“Mauricio has been there, done that,” added Solskjaer. “Obviously not trophy-wise — he’s a bottling cunt in terms of silverware. Sort of like a skinny Big Sam, to be fair.”
