Jack Grealish has submitted a transfer request barely 48 hours since signing a contract extension committing him to Villa Park until 2025. The highly-rated midfielder has been linked with a number of clubs in recent seasons.
“Yes, I signed the extension,” Grealish told Soccer on Sunday. “But then I went to training and saw the lads tripping over the ball, mis-controlling it into their own faces — Trézéguet miscued a shot and smashed the canteen window. That’s coming out of all our pockets. I just thought, ‘I can’t do this for another 5 years.'”
“I’m sure the fans won’t mind,” said the England international. “I haven’t checked, but I’m pretty sure Irish fans still love me even after I did the old switcharoo to England. Fans enjoy a bit of flip-flopping, to be fair.”
“Or maybe I’ll change my mind again and stay,” he added. “U-Turns are like hippy crack to me.”
