James Milner has been widely praised after being snapped hoovering Anfield during the Premier League winter break. The midfielder already earned plaudits earlier this week for his support of Liverpool’s under-23 FA Cup heroes.
“Milly’s an outstanding pro,” Jürgen Klopp told Soccer on Sunday. “I asked him to hoover the Kenny Dalglish Stand while we’re away, because Kenny goes ape if it isn’t spick and span. But credit to Milly, he hoovered all four stands and emptied the dust bag over at Goodison. Wonderful commitment.”
“Is hoovering the best thing for Milly’s injury?” said the German. “No, of course not. He’s probably set himself back six months. But at the end of the day, Anfield won’t hoover itself, will it?”
“If not Milly, who?” added Klopp. “Mo? Big Virg? Please, let’s be serious. If you are nominated for the Ballon d’Or, your hoovering days are over. Milly understands the situation.”
