Jürgen Klopp has issued a clarion call to his players, challenging them to ‘spank the holes’ off Southampton when the sides clash tonight. Liverpool will return to the top of the table if they overcome Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side at the St Mary’s stadium.
“We are in a good moment,” Klopp told Soccer on Sunday. “The boys will spank the holes off Southampton tonight, but that won’t mean anything if we don’t spank the holes off Chelsea next week. With six games left, we can’t afford to let a single hole go un-spanked. Hole after hole after hole after hole — all spanked.”
“I told the boys, we must show spunk tonight,” said the German. “Southampton are ok, but have they the balls to handle our spunk? We spanked the holes off them in September, and they were hypnotised by the intensity of our spunk. Wave after wave of spunk washing over them — it was too much spunk, and ultimately, their holes paid the price.”
