Frank Lampard has hinted that Donny van de Beek is unlikely to feature in his first eleven when the pair unite at Everton. Lampard has been appointed manager on a two and a half year contract, while van de Beek joins on loan.

“Donny van de Beek?” Lampard told Soccer on Sunday. “Donny van de Bench, more like. Not my cup of tea, Donny. I look forward to not picking the lad. They didn’t fancy him at UTD, and that’s good enough for me. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel on Donny.”
“No,” said the Londoner, when asked if van de Beek might work his way into contention. “I’ve made my mind up early doors, so I’ll not even be glancing Donny’s way at training. The lad’s dead to me, as far as the first eleven is concerned.”
“Donny van de Beek?” he added. “Donny van de Shite, more like.”
