Liverpool substitute goalkeeper Adrián will start Sunday’s tie against Leicester in midfield, Jürgen Klopp confirmed today. The Premier League champions have been beset by injuries and illness this season.
“For sure, Adrián can do a job in midfield,” Klopp told Soccer on Sunday. “A horrible job obviously, but still a job. Can he rise to the occasion and surprise everybody? No. He’s the worst player I’ve ever seen. But we need to field somebody, and that is the situation.”
“Speed, power, control, vision,” said the German. “Adrián has none of these things. So we must help him believe that he can perform well. Which he obviously can’t.”
“It’s difficult to exaggerate how shit he is outfield,” added Klopp. “He’s barely better than Jesse Lingard.”
