Andrea Pirlo has been photographed holding a copy of Sam Allardyce’s best-selling book ‘Football Management for Dummies’. The Italian replaced Maurizio Sarri as manager of Juventus this week, despite having no experience.
“This is my bible now,” said Pirlo, brandishing a copy of Allardyce’s book. “I must confess that I was unaware of Large Sam previously. If I’d known of his teachings, I would never have played a short pass. Pirlo the Handsome Hoofer, they’d have called me.”
“The book is about more than football,” said the former midfielder. “For example, It explains how to chew a kebab on one side of your mouth while chugging a pint of bitter down the other. I assume ‘bitter’ is a form of alcohol?”
“I want to be the Italian Large Sam,” added Pirlo. “Grande Sam Italiano.“
