Sky Sports have signed a deal to broadcast all of the Republic of Ireland’s nil-all draws in 2021, with an option to extend the deal into 2022. Ireland have scored only once in their last 4 games.

Kenny“We’re delighted,” Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Kenny told Soccer on Sunday. “It proves that there’s an appetite for nil-all draws. Listening to some pundits, you’d swear all fans want is goals. Nothing could be further from the truth.”

“Of course,” said Kenny, when asked whether his team still hope to score a goal. “But we have to be realistic. A goal right now looks far-fetched. But so long as we keep churning out nil-alls, it gives you that platform to maybe nick an OG or a deflection.”

“Which we probably won’t,” he added.
