Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears to have accidentally referred to Donny van de Beek by a derogatory name while discussing the struggling midfielder. Van de Beek has featured little for UTD since arriving from Ajax for a fee of £35 million.
“The lad needs to be patient,” Solskjaer told Soccer on Sunday. “When you’ve got Fernandes, McTominay and Pogba playing out of their skin, of course it’s going to be difficult for van de Shit to get minutes. Sorry, van de Beek I mean. English isn’t my first language, to be fair.”
“We’re blessed with midfield options,” said the Norwegian. “Pogba can play as a 6 or an 8, and I see van de Shit being flexible in that way too. Oh no, I’ve said van de Shit again, haven’t I? I meant Shit de Beek.”
“Vanny the Greek,” added Solskjaer, beginning to hyperventilate. “Could someone roll me onto my side please, if I pass out?”
