Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has inflamed tensions ahead of tonight’s Europa League semi-final, labelling opponents Roma a ‘Pub Team’. The Norwegian is hunting his first silverware since taking charge of UTD.
“Yes, they’re a pub team,” Solskjaer told Soccer on Sunday. “But pub teams can be dangerous. Whether it’s Roma or the Dog & Duck, you’ve got to perform. I let the lads off on the piss last night, but we’ll be right at it when the whistle blows. Except maybe Paul and Luke. They still haven’t came home from the bender.”
“I wouldn’t say we’re taking Roma lightly,” said the 48 year-old. “But Chris Smalling plays for them. Smallsy is a horrible player, so that gives us great confidence. Probably we should have done some video analysis, but I wasn’t arsed. I’m a bit tired this week, to be fair.”
“Roma Schmoma,” added Solskajer, with a dismissive wave of his hand.
